The Well-Being Index team is excited to announce the Well-Being Index self-assessment is now available for FREE.
Medical students, residents, fellows, physicians, and other employees can now use the Well-Being Index as a tool for well-being assessment, regardless of whether or not their institution has a license.
A Mission to Beat Burnout
We are on a mission to beat burnout and renew purpose among physicians, medical students, and other professionals with high stress. Burnout leads to adverse consequences that affect people, their employers, and the people they serve.
As part of this mission, our goal is to assess 500,000 users by 2018 to help reduce burnout and increase engagement. The first step of improved well-being is through regular assessment and self-awareness. With an improved sense of wellness and continued efforts to address the issue, individuals can be confident and get the assistance they may need.
About the Well-Being Index Invented by the Mayo Clinic
Invented by the Mayo Clinic, the Well-Being Index is a 100% anonymous, online self-assessment that evaluates multiple dimensions of distress in just 9 questions. The tool then provides results that the individual can compare against national averages and their peers. Based on these results, the Well-Being Index also provides resources and next-steps for an improved well-being. It is a validated tool that has been used by more than 35,000 professionals.
Assess Well-Being for Free with the Well-Being Index
Schools and institutions who wish to encourage awareness of well-being can simply send their students and employees to the online version of the Well-Being Index for a free self-assessment and to track their well-being over time.
Participants of the free self-assessment tool will have the option to create an account and track their well-being over time. In addition, we ask them which institution, medical school, or residency program they are affiliated with. This means that we'll already have collected de-identified, aggregate data if/when a school/institution decides to license the full software solution. This will give them a jump start on developing and/or improving the well-being programs they are implementing.
Try it out and let us know what you think. We would love feedback on the FREE version of the Well-Being Index.
