US Army team helps fight staff burnout at Baptist Medical Center

According to a recent article from Texas Public Radio, hundreds of military medical personnel have been tasked with assisting hospitals throughout the state during the COVID-19 crisis. One of the hospitals receiving Army support is the Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio. 

“It was a collective sigh of relief. They have aided so much in not only the physical load, but the mental load, the emotional load, just by sharing in that need to care for these patients in this COVID population,” said the hospital's ICU director Connie Thigpen. How coaching prevents and treats physician burnout

In a recent post from MedPage Today's KevinMD.com, physician coaching is explored as a solution to mitigate the harmful effects of burnout and distress.
